Cable stood at the edge of Utopia, the X-Men's hidden stronghold, staring at the holographic alerts flickering across Graymalkin’s ancient interface. Moira MacTaggert worked beside IPAC, her voice steady but urgent.
“The Technovirus Purge is accelerating. We have minutes before it reaches critical mass.”
Beast landed lightly beside him, claws clicking against the floor. “Children of the Atom are assembled. We’re ready.”
Phoenix floated nearby, her fiery wings casting long shadows. White Tiger prowled restlessly, while Maria Hill coordinated with the Helicarrier above. Ironheart’s repulsors hummed as she checked her systems, and Marrow grinned, bones shifting in anticipation.
Deadpool popped up from a nearby console, twirling a katana. “Live Dangerously, right? I’m in.”
Cyclops stepped forward, visor glowing faintly. “Strength in Diversity. We each bring something different. That’s our edge.”
One by one, the team affirmed their traits—mutant, hero, warrior, genius, strength—each unique, each vital. The room pulsed with their combined energy.
Professor X raised a hand. “Meditation first. Clear our minds.” He closed his eyes, drawing on The Power of Leadership that flowed through them all. The Power in All of Us answered, strengthening their bond.
Beast nodded. “I’ll Mind Scan the threat.” He focused, joined by Phoenix’s telepathic reach and Professor X’s own formidable mind. Precognition flickered in Phoenix’s vision—a glimpse of the chaos to come.
Ironheart raised her repulsors. “Telekinetic Blast for the front line if needed.” Maria Hill pointed to the main display. “Call for Backup is active. The X-Jet is fueled and ready at Avengers Mansion.”
Marrow smirked. “Let’s Build Support. Superpower Training—everyone sharpen your edge.”
Deadpool leaned against the wall. “Bodyslide me in when it’s go-time. I’ll handle the chaos.”
Professor X turned to Cable. “You carry Askani’son. The Plasma Rifle is yours. Forced Amnesia for their leaders. Telekinetic Force Field—Phoenix will hold it.” Cable equipped the rifle, its barrel glowing faintly. A shimmering Telekinetic Force Field enveloped the team as they boarded the X-Jet.
Deft Focus kept their minds sharp. Energy surged through Ironheart, Genius flowed through Beast, and Strength empowered Marrow.
As they descended toward the purge’s source, Cyclops called out, “We end this now.”
Phoenix’s voice echoed in their minds: “Together.”
The battle was fierce—technovirus drones swarming, corruption spreading. Beast’s scans pierced the chaos, Phoenix’s fire burned away clusters, and White Tiger’s claws shredded the core. Ironheart and Giant-Man tanked surges, Marrow’s strikes fueled Mind Scan locks. Deadpool quipped through the frenzy, and Cyclops’ optic blasts vaporized waves.
One final push—Bodyslide warped squads into oblivion, Telekinetic Blast ripped through the heart of the purge.
The virus core shattered. The team stood amid the wreckage—bruised, exhausted, victorious.
Cable lowered his rifle, smoke curling from the barrel. He looked at his team and said quietly, “Leave it to me.”
