In this case Tartarus is The Raft and Herc has turned it into his personal prison.

Tartarus:

The Raft serves 2 purposes, we can tuck minions we don't want to see again under there as well as any with solid scheme numbers helping us clear threat. Combined with Interrogation Room, Herc can clear some threat for each minion defeated.

For instance, when playing against En Sabah Nur and the Dark Riders mod i used Infiltration to clear a side scheme and brought out Psynapse. One basic attack from Herc defeated them removing 3 more threat from the main, 2 from Tucking under the raft and 1 from interrogation room, In total 8 threat removed.

The more minions underneath The Raft also reduces the likelihood of pulling one from Infiltration meaning it becomes just a strong threat removal event.

Gameplan:

Surely we aren't just relying on Infiltration right?! Of course not, we have 5 allies who bring a 2 thwart stat and none higher than 3 cost! They can be found with Chance Encounter or from clearing Evaluate Threat.

Evaluate threat is fantastic here as we can search for ANY S.H.I.E.L.D or Avenger card reducing it's cost by 2 for the remainder of the phase. This makes The Raft, Scarlet Witch and Firebird free while also reducing Quincarrier, Manifold, Sentry and Yellow Jacket to 1 cost!

Sentry helps find another side scheme for us to clear, though I would not play him if Embody Pathos is out. He also has 5 hit points meaning we can keep a 2 thwart ally out for a solid amount of time.

Manifold helps find our PSS and brings solid thwart for us.

Yellowjacket let's us search the top 5 of our deck for an upgrade. I really love him for kits like Herc who have temporary upgrades that we can continually find.

Under Surveillance keeps the main scheme from popping and allows us to clear side schemes and draw from Skilled Investigator.

When Embody Pathos is out, Infiltration can help clear it which will net 5 cards with Skilled out as well as a ready. With Prince of Power and Golden Mace out, we can then overkill the minion we brought out healing, dealing some overkill sending him to the raft for threat removal and 1 more from interrogation room!

Side Holster is here to allow for a 3rd restricted upgrade. Sonic Rifle helps when we want to flip down and grab a new labor giving us some breathing room.

Face the Past is really nice for Herc as one The Gift of Battle can take Ares out. With prince of power out, you can even just ready with Limitless and heal back the damage you take from his retaliate.

Herc will smash the bad guys while Infiltration and your allies handle threat.

Overall this has been the most fun i have had with Herc as it shores up some opportunities with thwarting and let's him focus on what he's good at.
