Main Idea

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been drawn to heroes who fight from the shadows with a bow in their hands. That’s why I instantly connected with Hawkeye when I first saw him back in The Avengers (2012). With the growing number of S.H.I.E.L.D. expansions in Marvel Champions, I wanted to build a Hawkeye deck that is not only playable and consistent, but also thematic and true to his identity.

This deck focuses on setting up Hawkeye’s signature bow gimmick and letting his arrows do the heavy lifting while S.H.I.E.L.D. allies support him behind the scenes.


Hawkeye’s Strengths

Once Hawkeye’s bow engine is set up, he can do almost everything for free. Need to clear minions with a single arrow? Take down an elite minion with Tough? Apply Confuse or Stun when needed?

Hawkeye’s arrow kit gives him incredible flexibility, allowing him to respond to almost any situation as long as his setup is online.


Hawkeye’s Weaknesses & How This Deck Handles Them

1. Low Hit Points

Low HP is always Hawkeye’s biggest weakness. To mitigate this, Make the Call is a key card in this deck, allowing Hawkeye to consistently bring back allies for chump blocking every turn. Additionally, Endurance and S.H.I.E.L.D. Deputy are included. Not only for thematic reasons, but also to give Hawkeye a much-needed +4 HP.

2. Low Recovery

Hawkeye’s low REC makes healing inefficient. That’s why Downtime is included, giving him a reliable way to recover without falling too far behind.

3. Dealing with Threat

Threat management is handled through a mix of arrow effects and allies, such as playing Maria Hill and Sling Shot every turn.


Key Card Combos

1. Maria Hill + Make the Call

A classic combo that provides card draw and a chump blocker, helping Hawkeye survive while keeping momentum.

2. Quincarrier + Sling Shot + Sky-Destroyer

Delivers consistent damage and threat control every round — 2 damage plus an additional 2 damage or thwart, depending on the situation.

3. Any Ally + Inspiring Presence

Maximizes ally value (like Nick Fury), allowing you to extract as much utility as possible from every ally play.
