Law and Disorder Re-Ordered (or "Where's the Confusion?")

Deck's Design:

  • An aggressive Justice deck with tons of card draw to play Tooth and Claw and let Tigra deal damge to the villain's face repeatedly.

  • Prevent threat from overwhelming the main scheme with the Counterintelligence and Under Surveillance upgrades (rather than by confusing the villain).

This is in stark contrast to the first Justice deck I created that was meant to shut down villain and minion scheming by consistently confusing the enemies.

If you'd like to see a 2-deck comparison between this deck and the first one created, see the following video: Coming soon from http://www.youtube.com/@MCDeckDiscussions

VILLAINS TESTED AGAINST (BETWEEN THE TWO DECKS TESTED) to refine the deck and/or game play strategies (undefeated in both standard and expert): Klaw (with an expert house rule(1)); Ebony Maw; Magneto; and Captain Marvel (Leader).

  • Notable Results: I played against the first two villains and Standard Magneto with the deck Law and Disorder, which is not formally published. Game play notes are included in that deck's description.

This Deck: Played against Expert Magneto; then Standard and Expert Captain Marvel (as a Leader).

  • Final Turn vs. Expert Magneto: Did 8 damage to finish version II of the villain exactly, then finished with 24 more points of damage to finish version III. Played all 3 Tooth and Claw events, and Nick Fury ended the game with his 4-point damage ability.
  • Versus Captain Marvel: Handily defeated Captain Marvel in Standard, dealing damage regularly to her throughout the game. In Expert, the deck still proved quite capable due to the massive card draw, with all three Tooth and Claw attack events being played in the final round for 24 points of damage, defeating her in one shot (after her "immune from damage" round).

    NOTABLE ELEMENTS:

Deck Refinements: This deck was essentially a complete rebuild from the original deck's design, which was meant to confuse the villain regularly to get a larger hand size whether in hero or alter-ego form. This deck, on the other hand, is meant to produce a great deal of offensive power and thwarting through massive card draw and does not rely on confusing the villain whatsoever.

Allies:

  • Agent Coulson: To grab Counterintelligence and usually easily play it in this deck.
  • Yellow Jacket: With 12 possible upgrades, Yellow Jacket has a reasonable chance of pulling one out of the deck after entering play, especially if one monitors the upgrades the number of upgrades already played or discarded.
  • Nick Fury, Nick Fury, Sr., Ironheart: all are meant mainly for card draw.
  • Machine Man: A cheap ally for defending but with big potential for up to 4 thwart or attack, due to the large amount of card draw as well as Cat's Head Amulet.
  • Vivian: Excellent potential upside from the ability while providing a third cheap ally for defending Tigra.
  • Hope Summers: Great ally for snagging Tooth and Claw out of the deck.

Events (all for additional card draw):

Abundance of Resources: In addition to the card draw from the allies and events, the following cards provide additional resources.

Main Scheme Protection: Counterintelligence and Under Surveillance

Conclusion:

The draw power, abundance of resources, allies, and Tigra's own events make her more than capable of dominating most villains, despite have to regularly dispose of minions. Often, though, one could allow Tigra to take damage from minions and just deal regular, and at times massive, damage to the villains face.

(1) Note on expert house rule for Klaw: This modification assures that expert Klaw makes for a consistently challenging villain during playtesting. After discarding cards at the beginning of the game and putting into play the first minion that is discarded from the encounter deck, if that minion is NOT a Masters of Evil minion, I search the encounter deck for a Masters of Evil minion and replace the original discarded minion with it. I then shuffle that original minion back into the deck.
