I wanted to share this deck I used at the inaugural MC//DC2025 event. This was my Justice Hulkling deck, which I played extensively. The core of the deck can effectively handle many threats without relying on Justice-specific events, but I included some additional cards to enhance its capabilities, especially in higher hand scenarios.
Nick Fury Sr. is valuable for bringing in versatile removal—he can enter play and remove three threat and then thwart for 2 that's 5 in total! While Spider-Man (Peter Parker) is an auto-include for Justice play styles, particularly in two-player or larger games. We also include the card "Chance Encounter" to target Spider-Man and pull him when needed.
With shapeshifting cards, Hulkling can enter an endless loop of readying and thwarting, which can be quite powerful. My recommendation is to ensure that your main identity's threat level is close to zero or fully cleared before ending your turn in "Imitation Shape." By boosting thwart with cards like Justice's Heroic Intuition and Specialized Surveillance, you can achieve five thwart in Imitation Shape. At that point, you can thwart, then use Brain Over Brawn for five damage, which also activates your shapeshifting ability since it's an event.
Blade is included primarily to get on the board and serve as a target for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. If you don't have Blade, Wiccan and Spider-Man also serve as suitable targets. Regarding Wiccan, he targets identity-specific events, and you always want to aim for shapeshifter-related ones.
Additionally, I added some zero-cost events to help mitigate scheming if you happen to end your turn in Imitation Shape. "Foiled" can be used in either hero or alter ego, and "Great Responsibility" can only be played in hero form. Playing these events can trigger upgrade abilities if you're in Hero form.
I really enjoyed playing this deck and experimenting with a different aspect. I hope you give it a try and find it enjoyable.
