Weaponized Web-Warrior

Silk has a lot of strengths, including her three Swinging Silk Kicks, which produce significant damage in one shot, and her regular readying with Organic Webbing makes it so that she can typically manage minions and schemes well, as long as she's also taking advantage of the regular ensemble of Web-Warriors, though it can take some time to set up her big attacks to finish off the villain due to waiting for a Swinging Silk Kick to come into hand.

This deck is meant to give Silk more ample opportunities for immediate minion destruction, while also regularly dealing damage to the villain and having final burst damage at hand at almost any given time. The addition of Weaponry makes it easier for her to add small instances of damage to always be set up to take out the villain, while Firepower gives her 3 extra cards that can deal almost as much damage (and sometimes just as much) as Swinging Silk Kick for a very low cost.

VILLAINS TESTED AGAINST to refine the deck and/or game play strategies (and UNDEFEATED in both standard and expert): Klaw (with an expert house rule(1)); Black Widow; Thunderbolts (Citizen V) with Hard Sound/Songbird and Gravitational Pull/Moonstone; and Magneto.

Deck Refinements

  • Removal(s):

    • Psylocke: Originally in the deck to confuse the villain; however, with her expense, I just wasn't playing her much.
    • Pulse Grenade: Having 4 weapons was cluttering up the deck too much, especially since Firepower could also be a dead card in the early game.
    • Assault Training: While I did play this card periodically, it was more important to have more immediately playable cards in the deck.
  • Addition(s): N/A

  • Potential other removals:

NOTABLE ELEMENTS OF PLAY:

Weapons Available to Play Firepower: Silk's Spider Claws is a non-restricted weapon, so one can play the other two restricted weapons below, so any of these 3 weapons can be in play at any time. The player side scheme Lock and Load helps get one of these into play easily. Once at least one weapon is in play, Firepower becomes immediately valuable, including its ranged ability, but two or three weapons in play makes this card incredibly overpowered, though one did pay a price for that power ahead of time.

  • Spider Claws: This also helps with tough statuses if not exhausted already.
  • Jarnbjorn: Plus, one can potentially deal additional damage even when exhausted.
  • Plasma Pistol: Can ping a damage here and there if not already exhausted.

Notable Allies:

  • Moon Girl & Nick Fury were included for the card draw. While I am trying to build more decks without including Nick Fury, the card draw is important in this particular deck because Firepower can only be played if one can get weapons into play; otherwise, we have quite a few "dead" cards in the deck.
    • Silk's own support, Albert Moon also helps with this, of course, to make sure Silk can use her alter-ego card draw ability.
    • Same with the Web-Warriors once Web of Life and Destiny is in play.
    • Face the Past also contributes to this card draw.
  • Spider-Woman: She's a great asset with her response that pings a damage every time a Web-Warrior ally enters play.
  • SP//dr: She's even more effective than usual with her "When Defeated" ability since she not only adds herself to your hand and draws you a card (if Web of Life and Destiny is in play), but each time she comes back into play, she trigger Spider-Woman's ability (if in play).
  • And of course all other Web-Warrior allies have their own benefits, too, while Professor X confuses the villain to help go to alter-ego and utilize Albert Moon's ability.

Quincarrier Can NOT Be Played: Note that Build Support is strictly meant to be used to put Quincarrier into play since that's the only way to get Quincarrier into play since Silk is not an Avenger.

Conclusion:

This "Weaponized Web-Warrior" deck transforms Silk from a hero who occasionally has to wait for her biggest attacks into a constant, relentless threat. By equipping her with a versatile arsenal of Weaponry and the powerful damage flexibility from Firepower, you ensure you always have the tools to manage minions and consistently chip away at the villain. This aggressive, high-damage strategy allows you to take full advantage of Silk's inherent strengths, giving you the control to finish any game on your own terms.

(1) Note on expert house rule for Klaw: This modification assures that expert Klaw makes for a consistently challenging villain during playtesting. After discarding cards at the beginning of the game and putting into play the first minion that is discarded from the encounter deck, if that minion is NOT a Masters of Evil minion, I search the encounter deck for a Masters of Evil minion and replace the original discarded minion with it. I then shuffle that original minion back into the deck.
