The affiliates have been complaining about a lack of diversity on the Cable decks on MarvelCDB.

What in the hell's diversity!?

I believe diversity is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the civil war era... This deck focuses on using the trait goblin that is Cable to power up our Strength in Diversity quickly and with minimal setup, so we can get value from the card in early turns.

With just Technovirus Purge cleared our boy is pretty diverse on his own with 3 traits, that's relatively par for the power course with things like Haymaker and slightly better than To the Rescue! but we can do better...

Once we get Children of the Atom down Cable now has 5 traits all on his own, now we're starting to get this old wooden ship going!

Krautbammer, I'd be surprised if affiliates were concerned by the lack of an old, old wooden ship in Cable decks, but nice try...

Now with his side scheme mini game you can get another trait goblin out like Hugin & Munin or Vivian with Call for Backup. With just one of those allies out we're up to 8 traits! Sprinkle Kaluu in the mix while having the aforementioned allies out and we've got 12 traits! We've outfitted this old wooden ship with some cannons.

The The Triskelion is there to be able to rotate that 4th slot with easy to play chump blocks with enter play effects like Beak, Kid Omega and Triage.

New Recruits gives us access to one additional trait with all the allies having the NEW trait and not counting towards our ally limit once we have the X-Men trait. And 'cause I think it's a fun less used card.
