After joining the X-Men, Kurt Wagner realizes he must search within to find himself.
Bamf! is an incredible card that has many uses. Kurt's alter-ego ability effectively gives us +1 hand size per turn. This is the engine that makes this finely tuned deck run Bamf! Nightcrawler's kit relies on this card for more than just defending, in fact I would argue that it should only be used for defending if you have no other means of surviving a hit (see 2nd to last paragraph). Get creative with this card, it can be the extra resource you need to make your hand work, or you can dish them out to multiple enemies to have an explosive turn with tally Ho! and 'Port and Punch, or it can enable 'Port Away, Scout Ahead, and Teleport Drop. The possibilities are endless, Bamf! is not just a gimmick for defending.
Flipping forms is like Nightcrawler teleporting from a sanctuary straight to the fight!
Whether that's Kurt's Chapel, the X-Mansion or just hanging upside-down a tree meditating we have so much to do in alter ego! There are turns where you'll end up with 8 cards by flipping forms. Meditation allows you to pay for an X-Men ally, while Utopia and Honorary X-Men can mitigate the cost of exhausting. (Side note, using meditation feels a lot like Kurt teleporting a team-mate into play, which pushes the right buttons for me.)
Just because we don't need chump blockers doesn't mean we shouldn't have allies!
Allies are the strongest and most diverse card type in the game, and when they aren't being used as a human shield they can be the most interesting card type... and X-Mansion can keep them in play for longer! Oh X-Mansion... What a beautiful card. It heals any X-Men and brings Mutant Education online.
Study, study, study!
This is probably the most important card in the deck. Just like with Iceman, being able to reshuffle key cards from your discard pile back to your deck allows you to play your heroes kit to their fullest potential.
Don't be afraid to take a few hits...
Bamf! is not a forced interrupt so you can leave it there for when you really need it. Using your health as a resource allows you to take advantage of Kurt's Chapel and also let's you time your Bamf! for a clutch moment!
The only thing Nightcrawler needs is a way to blowout the game. That's why we have three copies of my favorite card Take That! to supplement Teleport Drop. I believe this is a really well rounded and thematic deck and I encourage everyone to try it out!
