Imagine Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein...that was me when I created this list. Some back story...
My play group has been going through every scenario in release order for over a year. We finally got to the SinMo campaign and, to keep with the theme, we each chose a Spider. I had already run Ghost-Spider Protection in another box, so I went with Spider-Woman. We had a Miles Aggression list. Spider-Ham Leadership, and SP//dr Justice. I wanted to maximize what Spider-Woman can do, and that meant getting her stats up to 4 4 4 or better every turn. But what good is one attack of 4+? So I also wanted to attack again, and again...and again, hence the name Always Ready.
Always Ready meant I needed multiple ways to ready my hero, and, to maximize her stats, I needed EVERY aspect, so I chose Pool and Protection. Pool added some serious flare and chaos. Live Dangerously was the key. +2 hand size was glorious and truly allowed for me to consistently play 3 or more different aspect cards in a turn. Couple that with Taunt, which was an easy draw 3 with Pheromones and Cutupper, and "I Got This", and I was drawing enough to usually get 4 aspects cards in a turn. Besides giving me Taunt, Protection allowed me What Doesn't Kill Me and Leading Blow as 6 more cards that ready my hero, plus her kit has Self-Propelled Glide.
Icing on the cake was Laser Swords for an additional +4 attack, Stick-To-Itiveness for another Ready, Healing Factor for more healing on top of Contaminant Immunity and What Doesn't Kill Me, and all three Resource triplers to get Laser Swords, Symbiote Suit, and Healing Factor online quickly.
This deck was always entertaining, explosive (20+ damage in a turn was the norm), chaotic, and extremely beneficial to the other players. Everyone getting +2 hand size was straight value. The number of encounter cards could get rough, but if you know that going in, it's fine. If you like a challenge when playing your deck, I highly recommend this. Just make sure someone is playing Shadowcat Justice or Crisis Averted. If this deck looks familiar to something you saw at Con of Heroes 2024...HI!! That was me!!
Thanks for reading and enjoy testing my creation!!
