After yet another fight with Rogue, Gambit goes out for a stroll. He came across America Chavez who is going on vacation to alternate universes. After seeing how sad Gambit is, the nice and sensitive America can't bear to look at him like that. After a thoughtful conversation, she asks him if he wants to go on an adventure with her and explore the multiverse, as this could help him clear his mind.
Looking forward to some distraction, Gambit agrees and asks if they can go somewhere, where he can blow some bad guys up.
Stepping through the portal, America and Gambit found themself on Utopia in the X-Mansion. As weird as this seems to Gambit, he reminds himself that alternate realities don't necessarily have the same structure as his reality. Curious how different this place is from his home, America and Gambit explore the Mansion. While checking mostly empty rooms, Gambit stops in front of a picture of Professor X, an alien tree, a weird-looking racoon and a man smiling and holding a shield. On the back of the picture Gambit reads a message of gratitude to Professor X signed by "The Tinker, I Am Groot and The Living Legend".
A clank and a smashing noise coming from the Cerebro room brings Gambit back to reality. Running into the room, Gambit and America see that the roof of the room is almost completely torn away Professor X is semi-conscious in the chair with Cerebro attached to him and Rogue next to him holding what seems to be a purple crystal. Rogues seems shocked at first but then makes a few steps towards Gambit and grabs his hand. Gambit, lost for words, allows Rogue to kiss him and then falls to the ground with a scream of pain.
Rogue hits America with an uppercut and a haymaker knocking her out. A Kree ship appears in the sky and Rogues flies away in its direction. Gambit grabs his trusty deck of cards and throws an array of Aces trying to cut off Rogue's escape, but instead of igniting, the cards fall on the ground helplessly, Ace of Hearts face up.
Gambit furiously stomps the card and at this moment a circular object flies past him, barely missing Rogue, and knocking down the rest of the roof. A mass of vines encapsulates Gambit and America, protecting them from the falling debris and pinning them to the ground. Gambit grabs one of the vines, trying to charge it with kinetic energy to no effect. A small creature with a jetpack flew over, but a shockwave sent him flying back. Gambit feels a familiar, yet somewhat strange presence in his mind, trying to communicate with him.
After placing Professor X and America in the lazaret and questioning the foreigner, the newcomers decide they can trust Gambit, who now introduces himself as Remy. They release him and introduce themselves as Rocket, Groot and Steve a.k.a. TMNT - "The Mishmash Nouveau Team".
"Name is work in progress."* - said the one who introduced himself as Rocket.
Our heroes go after the bad guys. Remy joins them. He might have lost his superpowers, but he still has a few Aces in his sleeves.
The story is far from being over!
The deck is built for multiplayer with the idea that Remy will spend the whole game in Alter-Ego. In Solo, it works just fine against most Villains.
From the story I wrote, you probably guessed that I teamed up Remy with Groot, Rocket and Captain America to fight Ronan, but you feel free to change the team to whichever TMNT you like the most and against whichever villain you want to make miserable.
Let's start with the familiar, yet somewhat strange presence in Remy's mind.
"Did you get my calling card?" ― Remy LeBeau
The deck is meant to ally-swarm the board. This will help in both thwarting and damage dealing, plus, allies are the best damage blockers to protect TMNT where needed.
All allies are self-explanatory, but a few deserve special attention:
- Professor X could be semi-conscious, but he is far from being useless. He creates a vague connection between Remy and Cerebro, allowing Remy to use the divide from a distance, with some limitations. The Psionic spirit of *Professor X* himself can be temporarily summoned to aid his **X-Men**.
- Blindfold can get rid of a nasty upcoming encounter card and provide a setup for *Thief Extraordinaire*.
- Both the Professor and Blindfold, thanks to their Psionic Traits, allow *Cerebro* to be used to its full potential.
- Forge) will get you whichever X-Men support you need the most at the moment, and this way the setup is much faster.
- Husk is amazing. She can thwart, attack, ready, heal - whatever you need. All the cards you cannot play this round can be utilised. With Husk on the board, a bad hand of only resource cards turns into an amazing hand.
Remy Cannot Attack
As Remy has lost all of his superpowers, he cannot attack and deal damage. The allies, Command Center and the rest of TMNT will help with that, but Remy has another card in his sleeve to make a difference - Lay the Trap. With this card, Remy will show the Villain what pain feels like.
Admit it, mon ami, we actu'ly make a pretty good team...when we ain't tryin' t'kill each other." ― Remy Lebeau
Theft with Charm
Remy also gets a page from his past and uses the tricks he picked up on the streets from his days as a thief. After all, before he became a superhero, he was a Thief Extraordinaire.
His abilities combined with his Charm, the knowledge he preserved from The Thieves Guild and the Beat Cops he encountered from his youth and his Counterintelligence skills are successful in confusing and disrupting all the attempts of Villains and bullies to advance in their schemes and achieve their goals.
"After all this time an' I still manage to impress myself." ― Remy Lebeau
PS: Foiled! is also a good candidate for the deck. If the villain and modular sets you play have a lot of boost icons, Foiled! is always a great addition.

Got me excited for some kind of teenage mutant ninja turtles references... that's a party foul
