Well, everyone knows Leadership is Gamora’s worst aspect. What this deck presupposes is…maybe it isn’t? ~Eli Cash, if Eli Cash played Marvel Champions
When the Marvel Champions Randomizer told me to take Gamora Leadership against an expert Thanos and his gauntlet with Goblin Gear (the one with the Advanced Glider) and Black Tom Cassidy modulars, I thought this was going to be a huge struggle. I was wrong.
This deck was made to avoid relying on stunning and confusing the villain. Instead, it uses tough allies, chump blockers, and Crosscounter to defend. This allows Gamora to use her events to wreck shop.
This deck plays strongest when you get Conditioning Room and Clarity of Purpose out early. Starting hand and mulligan should aim for 1 ally with "Welcome Aboard", Conditioning Room, and a resource generator. Though, specifically mulligan hard for Conditioning Room.
Get allies in cheaply with "Welcome Aboard", then turn them into good thwarters with Comms Implant.
Once Conditioning Room is out, flip every turn, if possible. Between her hero ability and Conditioning room, you’ll get enough cards to set up (get both Keen Instincts and Clarity of Purpose out) and manage board state. I think I was able to trigger both hero abilities every hero phase once Conditioning Room was out.
Ready for Action would make an ally tough so I could use them to block.
I was shocked at how this deck managed to slay the Titan (even with drawing Shadow of the Past on turn 2). In fact, I had to do it again just to see. It worked wonderfully. Both times, Adam Warlock was pretty helpful once he came in and especially with Comms Implant. I’d have him thwart for two once I only had one card in my hand and use that resource for whatever fire was the biggest.
There’s a good balance of resource types to take care of villain attachments. Get Over Here! is a great cheap event to trigger bigger thwarts and the hero ability, but if no minions were out, it reduced analysis paralysis on what cards to sacrifice. Clear the Area is always great in a precision deck.
Lastly, I’d change out one Get Over Here! for Cutupper if the villain wasn’t stalwart or steady.
I don’t see any reason this deck wouldn’t do well in multiplayer, but I haven’t used it in a multiplayer game yet. I might add that tag once I do.

Jan 02, 2024The first game went decent, I was all built out but I drew Fanaticism and got killed, with two allies out and one with tough. The second game, I died because of getting attacked twice after canceling one with the Milano. You might want to add Superpower Training into the deck so you can pull Gamora's Sword in. I didn’t use Get Over Here! a single time, because I didn’t have enough resources and Acrobatic Move was just stronger. I needed at least a turn to build out before I could deal any damage or thwart. |

I totally check out Superpower Training and even Build Support since so much of the engine relies on conditioning room. Get Over Here! serves as a cheap way to remove stuns, ping minions, trigger Forward Momentum, and reduce analysis paralysis, but if you’re not stunned and have Acrobatic Move, then it totally makes sense that the card held no value. I’ll check those out (solve a bit more for piercing) and update the deck! |
This deck seems really solid. I definitely need to give it a try against Expert Ronan. (One of my favorite scenarios to test a deck on)
