Hi welcome to the twenty third in a series of decks I plan to build directly influenced by the amazing Get Up and Game! Perfect Match-Up series found here: https://youtu.be/1I2q3sT6FoA Please check out the channel and the video since I thought it was an amazing gift to the community and it inspired me to start playing Champions more regularly.

My goal with this series is to create a unique deck inspired by each challenge match-up in the video using all the suggested cards plus some of my own to create a deck that any player can use to check out the challenge. If you’re missing some cards from a deck please ask in the comments and I’ll do my best to find replacements from your collection so that you can have fun too! Hopefully I can build a deck that can beat the villain on both standard and expert. I’ll try to document any tweaks I made while playing the deck too.

This next challenge is the first time I've played Rogue as she goes up against Ebony Maw. I've heard mixed opinions about Rogue from the community but I have to say, using her against a Mystic and getting to use those traits made for a very fun match up. I struggled just a bit in the Standard game mostly because I was learning how her cards worked in real time but I did get The Sorcerer Supreme and Honed Technique down on turn 1 which set me up real well for a win. My first Expert game was also tough as I started off with two Fireballs in play and ran straight into Shadow of the Past but I still managed a very tight late game victory. Then I absolutely crushed Ebony in the next Expert game with the help of a few X-men and a couple copies of Dive Bomb.

The concept for this deck is simple enough. Take advantage of the Mystic trait provided by Maw (or by Magik if you get her into play) so that you can get down The Sorcerer Supreme and use copies of Spiritual Meditation to find your best cards. I primarily used Rogue to defend. For offense, pop down your various X-men allies and enhance them with Attack Training and Boot Camp. You can also enhance Rogue's very powerful Dive Bombs with Honed Technique for massive damage. Rogue's Goin' Rogue and Southern Cross will also help with Stun and Confuse as well as threat removal and damage.

You can take your time in this scenario but I've found the best solution is to just hit the villain as hard and as fast as possible before the spells start taking you down a notch in the midgame. Obviously if you have to deal with two fireballs at once, you either have to race to the finish or prepare to flip down and heal when the time comes. All in all I had a great time with Rogue and I'm excited to play more with her in the future.
