Chill out on alter ego side at the start or end of every round cycling hero cards for ally, resource, and support cards. Eventually switch to hero mode if you your board is full and your hand is full of powerful magic.
Increasing max hand size to +2 from symbiote and sorcerer supreme and getting an extra draw from alter ego hand size, 2 from ability (and one more if quick silver is in play) and one from mansion, that's an extra 7 cards (minus the two discarded) for total of 10 cards and on the rounds you start on hero you get 1 less of course.
If you can't do anything with a 10 card hand, I can't help you.
