Magento has one of the most reliable readies in the game with his Magnetic Pull ability + cape. Combine that with a great economy to get tech upgrades out? Of course we're gonna make a Repurpose deck!
After playing a ton of games with Magneto is different aspects, I sometimes found myself struggling with having dead hands - I often found that I had too many resources and nothing to spend them on (looking at you, Wrapped in Metal with no minions out!) This deck as some higher cost tech upgrades and allies to use our $$$ on so we're always at least setting up some tech to repurpose later and bolster up our defenses.
The #1 priority is obviously finding and playing our cape. With some hard mulligans and our Magnetic Pull ability ~hopefully~ it won't take too long to find. Combining this with Magneto's Armor, I more often than not had +1 to all my stats after pulling. Build up your upgrades and get ready for some great board management.
A note on some of the other cards:
Allies: Rogue is a great companion to heroes that can buff their stats. Once the cape and armor are on, she more often than not hits a 5THW or 5ATK depending on what's needed. Synch builds on this them of boosting stats and can give us that extra umph to defeat a side scheme, pesky minion, or manage the main scheme. Armor and Iceman are nearly auto-includes for my X-Men protection decks - great for blocking/minion control. Rockslide I added because... well.... I could afford it! Also a great target for Rogue to touch and get boosted attack.
Events:
Outside of repurpose, I included two readying events. As the game rolls on, you may not be able to trigger What Doesn't Kill Me due to having full health and all your damage prevention toys. Ever Vigilant turns on once you have the cape and is helpful for main scheme management.
Supports:
The Night Nurse is another auto-include for me when I play protection. While he can gain steady with his helmet, it's nice to not have to worry about getting statused, especially when the strategy revolves around readying and using basic activations. The X-Jet.... who doesn't love a resource generator?!
Upgrades:
Besides the tech, I included a copy of armored vest, unflappable, and deft focus. With the vest and unflappable - once you have your tech and Magnetic Bubble out, it's very likely you'll take no damage when defending. It's nice to defend -> draw a card -> ready with your cape -> magnetic pull to start each hero phase with 7 cards. Deft focus helps us pay for our hero-specific events. Originally, I didn't include Deft Focus, but found myself being ~one resource short~ after paying for my more expensive upgrades and allies. This helps me trigger my situationally useful events when needed.

Sounds like a fun deck! I'll have to try once I get time. I haven't found a protection deck yet that feels good to me. It's my least played aspect for sure, but I'm still trying to give it a chance!
